We provide expert help to development organizations on technology-mediated or enabled solutions and services.

Mobile & Web Apps

The mobile and web applications we’ve developed have helped NGO partners on areas such as humanitarian response, peacebuilding, community-based inclusive development, civilian protection, human rights and disaster response.  Agile software development allows our process to be more transparent and collaborative while delivering working functions and features incrementally.

ICT in Monitoring & Evaluation

Key to our intervention in applying ICTs in Monitoring and Evaluation is readiness assessment that looks into current practice and determines success factors and gaps for a successful implementation of ICT in M&E. We promote open source software when possible or free versions of popular mobile and web apps.

Digital Transformation

We accompany organizations in their digital transformation journey as they leverage ICTs to improve how they work and increase impact. While prescribing appropriate technologies and developing capacity, our management experience allows us to look into people, processes and policies to address gaps and help ensure that success factors are in place moving forward.

Learning Management System

Our Learning Management System (LMS) offering includes instructional design; setup, configuration and customization of Moodle open source LMS and development of e-learning materials using illustrations, animation and motion graphics. We partner with subject matter experts as needed for content development.

Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal are our recommendations for content management systems. Besides typical deliverables in website development, we help partners in website strategy, content development, copywriting and ensure capacity to manage their websites through training and custom instructional videos particular to how their websites are set up. As they get familiar with managing their websites, we accompany them for a few months after launch.

Remote ICT Staff

Most medium and small-sized NGOs do not have a dedicated ICT staff. This role is usually assumed, out of necessity, by an accidental techie on top of primary responsibilities. We provide Remote ICT Staff services tailored to specific requirements of NGOs such as website maintenance, social media management, information management, online training and practically anything that requires technical support. NGOs get the expertise and experience without the costs associated with a regular staff.

As key component of digital transformation, we help improve organizational capacity on ICTs through hands-on training, coaching, instructional videos and accompaniment. Most requested topics are website management, task management, information management and mobile data collection.

Animated Videos

Animated videos such as explainer videos allow development organizations communicate their advocacies visually and effectively. We provide script, storyboard, voice over, original illustrations, motion graphics and character animation and collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging contents.

Victor Sapar facilitated the use of ICT tools to help improve the assessment activities of the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) - Philippines. Working closely with our team, he conducted readiness assessment, review of attendant processes as well as staff training. He introduced free and open-source applications for data collection, cleaning, processing and visualisation.

Tony Fish, Former Coordinator, Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (Mindanao)

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - Caraga is thankful for the collaboration we had with TechRemote, particularly Mr. Victor Sapar, in the development of the Do No Harm Quick Check mobile app. The app allows looking into the conflict-sensitivity of a project or activity based on established Do No Harm principles and practices and gives immediate feedback on urgent areas that need to be addressed. Mr. Sapar’s experience in ICTs and development issues like peacebuilding allowed his team to execute well this project which was supported by GIZ Philippines.

Gelmar Faith Montillado, Regional Training Specialist, DSWD-Caraga

Victor Sapar facilitated RHRC-ARMM's use of a data management application from the IMT-HRDC. This involved readiness assessment, strategy development as well as training for users and managers. He also provided training on data processing, analysis and visualization using free and open source applications. Victor's intervention helped rationalize our use of ICTs.

Alikhan Abuat, Former Commissioner, Regional Human Rights Commission-ARMM

What Victor Sapar and his team at TechRemote accomplished with the VSO Peace and Resilience mobile and web apps surpassed our expectations. From the onset, it was evident that they think strategically building on our ideas and want to provide the most value given our limited resources. Victor's experience in mobile data collection and monitoring and evaluation in the context of development work allowed his team to bring more to the table than a typical software development company.

Sheen Alexandre Tato, Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser, VSO Philippines

Vic has been the web development and maintenance support of CODE-NGO for several years now. He helped a lot in revamping the old website of the network to make it more updated and user-friendly. Two of the major tasks included setting up an online library of CODE-NGO publications (since 1991) and mapping out a virtual members' database composed of around 1,600 civil society organizations across the Philippines. He trained the staff on updating these website features and provided comprehensive user manuals for reference.

Celia de Jesus, former Program Officer for Knowledge Development and Management, Caucus of Development NGO Networks Inc. (CODE-NGO)

Victor was instrumental in reactivating our website - making it more relevant and user friendly. More than applying a new design, he provided guidance on content development, attendant policies and processes as well as leveraging the website to help achieve our organizational goals. Probably considering that we are "non-techies" and also owing to his experience with non-profits, he facilitated the development of our website in a participatory manner thus effectively building our capacities along the way.

Raizsa Mae Anayatin, Executive Director, Mindanao Coalition of Development NGO Networks (MINCODE)

We have had a long and productive engagement with Victor in his capacity as ICT consultant. He not only helps us with web design and staff training, but also provides overall guidance in the effective communication of our work.

Jenina Joy Malaluan, Senior Fellow, Action for Economic Reforms (AER)

Victor Sapar has superb work ethics and he is accommodating and very easy to talk with. He gives honest feedback and will go extra mile to help his clients with feasible and efficient online solutions. He freely shares inputs and resources for those who want to learn. Thank you, Vik! May you and the work you put in continue to be blessed.
